Gardening Is In My Blood—Like It Or Not (I do!)
I have been a freelance writer for over 30 years, writing articles for magazines, newspapers, reference books, my own books, and have taught many adults about writing and publishing. I’ve written many articles about gardening and am a university-trained Master Gardener. Health and gardening are connected in many ways, and I’ve written a lot about health as well. I’m eager to learn your business story and how your product or service has helped other businesses and their customers. I want to write that story for you so that other businesses and people will come to you for help. And to help people find the joy and the fun in gardening—again or for the first time.
Why is accessible gardening important to me? I grew up in an old-world Italian family. That means you had a garden in the backyard! You grew it, harvested, cooked it up and ate it. You canned much of it and froze some too. And what a bounty it was. Of course we kids were the weeders so we hated it at least a little. By the time we were teens we were ready to trade all of that vegetation for a swimming pool. Man, that garden spot was a perfect place for it on those hot California summer days. Many years later there’s still no swimming pool in that spot! And I’ve had my own veggies, flowers and fruit trees at every place I’ve lived over the years. It’s in the blood! There are many people who also have it in their blood and would like to continue gardening for as long as they can. Time or something else has changed them and the garden has turned into a memory. But accessibility extends the “as long as they can.” One of my Master Gardener community projects was to provide an accessible landscape for nursing home residents to be able to enjoy. Years earlier, my father had a stroke. He had been an avid gardener all of his life, beginning back when a home garden meant survival. After his stroke he couldn’t manage the one activity that had given him pleasure and satisfaction throughout his life. He didn’t know of the accessibility products available.
Working With Me
Your blog helps you sell your products to your customers who can then increase their sales while meeting the needs of their own customers. But your blog is not a direct sales piece. It allows your customers to get to know you and what your company stands for.
Their customers are people who love to garden but who may find it difficult, or they think it’s impossible for them because of disability or age-related changes. Your products have helped these businesses give joy and meaning to people with disability. And their customers read your customer’s blog to learn. Let your own customers read YOUR blog.
I will listen carefully to understand your needs and goals for your blog, and for any other writing projects you need. I’ve had much experience with research and interviewing to gather the necessary information and quotes needed to put a story together.

About Fees
When you contact me to discuss your project we can talk about your budget and my fees. My fees are based on the complexity of the project, number of interviews, hours of research, and time doing the actual writing. I set those fees in consideration of copywriting industry standards.
Once we come to an agreement on work and price, I will send you a Terms of Agreement so that we are both clear on expectations. Once it is signed by both of us, I will get to work! I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
